Hi Michael, just curious. Are you doing this alone? Don't have an attorney? I am not suggesting you should have one but just curious. If only we could all do this without hiring attorneys.
Most of my friends who belong to countries with PD current are doing it themselves. They are surprised when I tell them that I use an attorney.

If its been more than 180 days since your 140 was approved, can you not use AC21 to move to a new job (similar). even if the old company revokes the 140, you will get RFE/NOID and you can reply back in specified time.

I did a little research I think that depends on the University and not in the type of master degree (on campus, online). There are some well known Universities that offer Online Master degrees like SMU, Michigan, Harvard, Illinois accredited by their respective boads.
You are missing the crux of my message; buying education for a GC is not the purpose of the SKIL bill. It is intended to retain foreign workers who willfully enrolled in a U.S advance degree program to pursue higher studies, and as oh! By the way that also helps you to get your GC quicker; it’s not the other way around .

In my view I would say that it has more chances to go through between Jan 2007 and August 2007. After that, it is poticial campaign all over again.
That is just my humble opinion.

You are right! I also do not think anything will get passed until 2007. SKILL or CIR will only get passed in the January to August 2007 timeframe. By 2008, focus will be on the Presidential election.

As soon as you adjust your status to F1 your I-485 becomes void. Further having and EAD has nothing to do being on F1.
In short it is not easy to go back full time studying while your I-485 is pending.
This second point is not true. Either that, or the USCIS is not enforcing that requirement consistently. I renewed my EAD 3 times so far, but never had to provide any salary statements with my renewal applications.

This is a house member. They will speak a lot of things. Plus, there is 435 of them. In the course of debate a lot of opinions will come across. I dont know if this guy from Indiana is on the conference, but the only person that really matters from the house side is Sensenbrenner. He will be on the conference. And all the provisions that are friendly to illegals will be thrown out of the bill during conference.
Frankly, the amendments like orange card amendment of Feinstein was a waste of time. First of all it didnt even pass the senate, but had it been passed, provisions like Orange card would be something that Sensenbrenner would ask the Senators to leave it outside the door before walking to the table in conf committee.
Cool down yaar. Let's wait for tommorow to see and hope that Frist and Reid dont start another pillow fight over the number of amendments.

Hi,
Have you been fully admitted to the new school? If so, the DSO at that school should contact the SEVIS Helpdesk for instruction on getting your SEVIS record transferred. And as long as that is in the works, you're fine. You should be able to go to the new school no matter what the status of of your SEVIS record. If you have been admitted to another school and requested to transfer, then you have done everything correctly. It will likely take them some time to deal with all the SEVIS records of all the student, but this issue was beyond your control, and in my experience students are not penalized for these type of situations.
This must be quite a stressful situation for all TriValley students. I wish that SEVP would contact all the students or post some message making clear to all students about exactly what they should do, especially if they are currently working, and to other schools about how they should handle the transfers.
Please post again about how it all works out and I wish you the best in getting settled into a new school.

I was on bench for 4 months in 2001. I have 2 times H1 transfer after that and visited India couple of times. I have regular pay stubs from 2002 onwards.
Can this create an issue while IO is working on my 485 application?
They usually check tax returns last three years. Some time go up to five year. 2001 just forget it.
